Ariel J. Tyring, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retina and macular diseases. Dr. Tyring is a native of central Indiana. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis where she studied chemistry and Spanish. She earned her medical degree, and subsequently completed her internship, at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She completed her residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at University of Washington in Seattle.
Her research and clinical interests include diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, hereditary retinal degeneration and uveitis. Dr. Tyring is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
In her spare time, Dr. Tyring enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and their dog. She is also an avid runner and likes to bake, preferably when she has someone to share with!
